HTML Help, Codes, and Scripts

HTML is the basis of every web page, it is the reason you're viewing this page right now. From the sites such at MSN.com and MPW's homepage, to YAHOO.com and the roleplay website's of every star here in MPW, HTML is what makes them run. It is key, that to make a good website, you must have some sort of knowledge of html. And, in the following sections, I will show you, the webmaster scripts and codes on how to make an effective website using some pretty simple functions. Aswell, I will give out codes to inhance your rp's on the rp board.

Font Color:

Font color is basically the color of your font. You can pick any color you like. From Skyblue, to Coral, they're all here! some of MPW's suggestions are...

You can also use a special HTML color code. There are millions of combos of numbers and letters which you can place in the code to make it go all sorts of colors. For instance, White it "#FFFFFF". And Black is "#000000".

Font Size:

Font size is just that, the size of your font. In other words the size of the text on the screen. You can make your font BIG or you can make your font small. It really doesn't matter.

Font Face:

Now font face is basically the font you would like to select. For instance, this page is being viewed on the Verdana font. There are plenty of other fonts to choose from. You can look in your fonts file, on your hard drive.

Font Color, Size, and Face:

Now, the easiest way to get around typing out all of these codes seperatly, is putting them all into one code. Now this is easy, but be careful you don't confuse the three.

Underlined Text:

You see the title 'Underlined Text:', that is done with this script. This is a VERY easy script, and it's very hard to screw up.

Underlined Text Code:

Italic Text:

This is another code that is very difficult to screw up... basically what it does is makes your text italic. Or slanted slightely. Like this Italic Text.

Bold Text:

Again, very difficult code to screw up. This code makes your text bolder then the rest. For instance the 'Bold Text:' title.

Linking:

Now, we're are going to concentrate on linking from the board to your pages. The code again is reletively simple, all you have to do if just follow what I'm saying!

Email LinkingThis is a code that requires a little more paying attention, and a bit more knowledge with HTML. But, still a fairly easy code. This is the script in which you can link to an email address... by the click of a mouse. Boom! Outlook Express pops up and your set to send the email.

Scrolling Text

Now make text scroll just like in the title. This code is very simple to use, and again very difficult to mess up.

Automatic Date Updater:

Now we are moving into the complicated stuff! This is a very usefull script, that can make even a crappy site look alot better. All you have to do if place this code where you want your date to appear. Notice even MPW has one?

Blocking The Right Click:

Now it just sucks as a webmaster, when someone comes onto your site and rips of your work! Well, no more with this handy code. This blocks right clicking on your site, and you can even format it so it shows a personalized message to the person trying to steal your stuff. One of my favouriates is, "Ohhh Testify Brother! Thow Shall not Steal!!". Clever ain't it?!

Coloured Scroll Bars:

This is a code that lets you really display your creative side, and it gives your siten that extra oomph! Now this code, is again very easy. You will have to tinker with it to get the hang of it though, but eventually you will.

Edit Your Links:

Now people never get what this script does until they see it for themselves. Have you ever wondered how websites make their links change colors and do really cool things? Well now you don't have too. This link editor is right off the MPW, so it is defaultly set onto MPW's settings, but you can change that however by using your creative side, and editing those colors and effects.

I Frame Code:

Now here's a code that is VERY effective and usefull. There's no doubt about it. I Frames can give your website that extra kick for navigation and display that you've always wanted. Now, I'm not going to go to much into it, because I don't want to confuse the people who are trying to learn it.
