Ren and Stimpy:
Kricfalusi's final two episodes
part 5

When Kricfalusi was finally removed entirely from the show, the show underwent some drastic changes--and not the changes that were expected.
In one scene in "Stimpy's Fan Club," Ren reads a letter to Stimpy from a sad child with a big secret:  He still wets the bed.  Ren responds to this initially by berating the kid, repulsed by such occurrences.  Stimpy quickly jumps in.
Now, the show is cruel without being interesting, and gross without being funny.  Oddly, the reason for this is quite simple, and at the same time unsolvable by those running the show now.  The reason is that "Ren and Stimpy" was created by people who loved the characters.  The new management seems ashamed of them, bashing them whenever possible.  The love is gone.
Much like the moral of "Sven Hoek," the show was at exactly the point it needed to be at.  Anything less wouldn't work, and the same goes for the opposite.
Perhaps there was another moral in that episode after all.
"Ren, a lot of people still wet the bed."  Stimpy weights his words dramatically on his final thought:  "You and I still do it."
Instead of the show being watered down, the gross gags got grosser, and the violence became more sadistic.  The overall quality of the show diminished as a result.
