Connemara

Connemara is the stretch of land from Galway to the Atlantic Ocean on Ireland's west coast.  Connemara holds most of the Gaeltacht.  The Gaeltacht is the region of Ireland where most of it's tradition and culture is preserved.  In the region Irish is also spoken on a daily basis.  John Wayne's film The Quiet Man was filmed in sections of Connemara.  Connemara is also world famous for the marble it produces and horses it raises.
