CD Reviews:
Jars of Clay - Self-Entitled
This album is one of my favorite Cd's that I've ever bought. Jars of Clay
truly made themselves one of the most famous Christian Rock Bands with their
debut album. Extremely instrumental for a new band in my opinion. Songs such
as "Love Song For A Savior" will stay in your head forever with its acoustic
guitars and gentle lyrics. This song followed by "Like A Child" which is one of
the most addictive Jars songs they've created. Then there is "Flood", which many
people have heard on the mainstream radio (Yeah, it was there), and some TV movies.
Perhaps one of my favorite songs by Jars of Clay is "Worlds Apart", a very soft,
acoustic, beautiful lyrics, just plain amazing. This album is a must buy if you
are looking for a great album to start your journey to listen to Christian Rock Music.
My Rating - You would be foolish not to go to your car right now, drive, and buy
this one.
Jars of Clay - Much Afraid
The second studio of release is an amazing follow-up album by the band that has proven
itself time and time again to be one of the best there is in the Christian Music front. "Crazy
Times" can easily be the little brother of "Flood" from the first album. This song was one of
their hit singles from this album. "Frail" is the next song that Jars of Clay brings to you, the
instrumental beginning leaves the mind to wander. The song is probably my favorite Jars of Clay song
instrumentally. Absolutely beautiful. The next song is also one of my favorites, called "Five Candles (
You Were There)". The video for this song even made it to VH1!!! The album ends with "Hymn", a beautiful
end to an incredible end. "Hymn" is my favorite song from this album. This album is a must buy as well!
To prove that not all bands have a bad sophomore album, buy this album.
My Rating - Get this One! Listen to the debut album first!!!
Jars of Clay - If I Left The Zoo
The latest studio release from Jars of Clay is possibly their most interesting instrumentally. When is the
last time you heard an accordion in a rock song? If you haven't, then check out "Goodbye, Goodnight". Want to
hear one of the most romantic songs in my opinion - check out "No One Loves Me Like You". Want to hear another
romantic song - then listen to "Hand". One of the most amazing worship songs I've heard is a song called "Grace"
on this album. It wouldn't be Jars of Clay without its lyrically beautiful ending. On this album, "River Constantine"
ends an amazing album, that in my opinion is a must buy.
My Rating - Might as well buy all three, you won't regret it! Listen to the three albums in order from oldest to
latest.
