Since I've never seen the Japanese version of Sailor Moon, everything here is based solely on the manga, other profiles I've read and the newly dubbed episodes airing now on Cartoon Network. :)
Anyway... Sailor Saturn is probably the most powerful Senshi of all, and leader of the Outer Senshi. I mean, she has the power to end the world! It's forbidden, though... why give it to her if she can't use it? Oh well, no one asked me. Also, she's the only Senshi whose henshin (transformation) sequence is never seen. She just kinda... appears as Sailor Saturn. Sorta like Tuxedo Mask, but you *do* see his sequence once or twice.
Hotaru herself is a very shy, sickly little girl. She has no friends at all until she meets Chibi-Usa, the only person her age who isn't scared of her strange healing abilities. Hotaru's father is, well... evil. Professor Tomoe sold his soul to Mistress Nine so that Hotaru wouldn't die in a lab explosion, and so now he's a baddy. He does, however, become good at the end of S, but that only leads to his death. Poor guy... he was kinda cute.
Hotaru later turns *into* Mistress Nine, which causes all sorts of problems that I won't go into now... but Uranus wanted to kill her, which wouldn't've been very good. She died (I think) and was reincarnated as a baby. The three other Outers spent SuperS and Stars (when she returns as Sailor Saturn) raising her.
