Venus was the last of the Inner Senshi to make her appearance on the show (and in the manga), but she's actually the very first Senshi of all. She lived in England for a while, and while she was there, she acted as Sailor V. Mina herself modeled for Sailor V posters, video games and movies, and her alter-ego was quite famous, and a hero of Serena's and the other Senshi.
When she first appeared (Episode #29), the girls and cats thought she might be the Moon Princess for whom they had been searching. She's beautiful, graceful and very powerful, so you can see why. Later, of course, it was found out that Serena was the Moon Princess... and I don't need to go into all of that. :)
Mina herself is a very friendly, cheerful, out-going person, much loved by everyone she meets. In the manga it says she was the leader of the Senshi in the Silver Millenium, and though Sailor Moon acts as leader in the present day, you can tell that Mina takes her duty very seriously.
Like Serena, Mina isn't a very good student, but she does seem to enjoy school. She's constantly late, but always cheerful about it. Mina used to seem a total ditz to me, but recently I've come to like her a lot more. She's a little flightly, true, but it's only an act.
Since seeing episode 100 ("the volleyball one," as my friend Vanessa calls it), my respect for Mina has risen even more. She's very dedicated to being a senshi, but she also feels very deeply the loss of a normal life - maybe more so than the others. They were all outcasts at one point or another, but Mina never really was. She had the volleyball team and all that, and she had to give it up. I can't imagine having to give up the theatre... even for something as noble as saving the world. It would be a pretty thankless job, I'd imagine, since no one knows that *Mina* is Sailor Venus. <sigh> :(
Like everyone else besides Serena, Mina is single. She's very boy-crazy, though, and constantly looking out for cute guys with Lita. When she lived in England she was in love with a man named Alan, but he married a friend of Sailor V and Mina's, a police woman named Katarina. How sad. :(
