It's good to be the king! The Spanked Wench Brewery was established on Labor Day 1994 when I was introduced to the art of homebrewing by my younger brother. Since then I have continued to experiment and refine my skills. I still brew with extracts and adjuncts, but hope to try all-grain if I ever compile enough equipment. |

The idea of creating The Spanked Wench Brewery came to me while surfing the net for homebrewing information. While checking out the many homebrew pages out in cyberspace, I was amused to find that many homebrewers created names for themselves and quite a few even produced labels for their various brews. Not to be outdone I began to search the web for inspiration that would help me form a name for my homebrew activities.
Among the wealth of information I found, was a page belonging to an individual who collected old English pub signs. Since I had always been a big fan of English beers I decided that I would pattern my brewing style after the many pubs both young and old that cover the Bristish countryside. Amazingly enough many of these pubs had vary colorful (or should I say colourful) names and even more colorful and sometimes gaudy signs. And so the Spanked Wench Brewery was born.
