The Spanked Wench Brewery ©

It's good to be the king!

The Spanked Wench Brewery was established on Labor Day 1994 when I was introduced to the art of homebrewing by my younger brother. Since then I have continued to experiment and refine my skills. I still brew with extracts and adjuncts, but hope to try all-grain if I ever compile enough equipment.

The idea of creating The Spanked Wench Brewery came to me while surfing the net for homebrewing information. While checking out the many homebrew pages out in cyberspace, I was amused to find that many homebrewers created names for themselves and quite a few even produced labels for their various brews. Not to be outdone I began to search the web for inspiration that would help me form a name for my homebrew activities.

Among the wealth of information I found, was a page belonging to an individual who collected old English pub signs. Since I had always been a big fan of English beers I decided that I would pattern my brewing style after the many pubs both young and old that cover the Bristish countryside. Amazingly enough many of these pubs had vary colorful (or should I say colourful) names and even more colorful and sometimes gaudy signs. And so the Spanked Wench Brewery was born.

Some of my better beers include:

The Old Black Naster Memorial Stout (named after a dog my family used to have)
Mare Spumans Stout (Not quite the dark side of the Moon)
Alabaster Moon Pale Ale

Beers I have on hand at the moment:

Bituminus Cole Porter
Honeymoon over Loch Lommond Scottish Ale
