![]() Chinese numbers are different than the numbers we use in America. But pretty much every Chinese person can understand the written numbers like 1,2,3. They use these numbers on the money, license plates, and digital clocks, and all kinds of things. But there are characters for each number, I had a Chinese friend write them next to our numbers. In Mandarin the numbers are different from Cantonese, and it's really important to learn them quickly and well, because when you ask how much something costs, they're going to tell you in Chinese.
