I unfortunately didn't visit a school in China, but I saw lots of kids in uniforms heading to or from school. China has so many people that the problem of educating them all can be tough. But it is doing a pretty good job. Over eighty percent of China can read and write and more and more there are schools starting out in the less populated regions. In the big cities and towns every kid goes to school and receives an education like we would expect in America. There are play grounds out side the schools and classrooms and schools are decorated with kids art. In China, all students wear uniforms to schools and in each town I go to, I can immediately see what the town's kids wear to school. Most Chinese children learn English now as a second language early on in school and many times on my trip a Chinese kid will try to practice his English by saying, "hello" to me.
