This is a picture of my guide on the trek, Thapa (pronounced tah-pa), and me after we got back. I know he looks small, but he's strong. When he was a porter he regularly carried loads of over 150 pounds. I think he could have carried me up over the pass. He was a great guide, always quick with answers to my questions and always smiling.

Also during the festival of Dasain, kids get to play with kites. Every afternoon, when the wind picks up, the skies are filled with many colored kites. And every evening the trees and roof tops are filled with snagged kites.
