As in China, Vietnamese people make all kinds of baskets and containers out of bamboo and other plants. It is very rare to see a plastic basket or metal box, everything is made out of bamboo or other plants, just as it's been made for years and years.
This is a picture of the wall of someone's house. Really, the wall of the people's house was a mat woven out of bamboo. The winters never really get cold, and all they need is to keep the wind and sun out. It was cool to see how much they made out of plants, even the walls of their homes.
