These three girls lived in a village outside of the town of Sapa. They were used to seeing tourist like us and they ran up to us saying "hello photo money, hello photo money," hoping we would take their picture and give them money.

I took their picture and gave them a piece of gum. But I also gave them a chance to see themselves on the screen of my digital camera. At first their faces burst into surprise and then into excitement to see their own image.
