In southern Vietnam, there are more canals and river ways than there are road. More people use their boats to get around and move their things around than they use cars or motorbikes. That's why in the south, there are floating markets. These are markets where everyone comes to them to buy and sell in their boats.

The whole wide river is filled with boats coming and going, people loading and unloading, people buying and selling. It's like the markets on land in town, but it's all floating. This is a floating market near the town of Can Tho.
