Because so much of Vietnam is along rivers and canals, especially in the south, boats are an important form of transportation. Here, people get brought across the Mekong river because there is no bridge that crosses the river here.

In some places in Vietnam, people don't have a car or a moto, they have a boat instead because there are more rivers and canals than roads.
