* I'm really not too big a fan of my first name. I know it's "unique" and everything but often I'd just rather have a feminine name. As I yearn to initiate the transition from girl to woman, I identify less and less with my "androgynous" name. My role models and the women I look up to in awe exude pure femininity and female power: old Hollywood actresses and pin-ups, the elite Supermodels of the early 90s, etc. The continuance of female androgyny in this day and age is plain evidence of an insecurity with our own sexuality.
