New, Glasto 99 and BBC radio theatre!

What a gem! This is one of the best REM performances I've ever heard. I think it's something about Glasto that brings out the best in bands. But everything's great. Star 69 is jaw droppingly rock, plus there's Sweetness Follows (a fairly rare live performance) and a great front row sing along of End of the World.... I believe that the last two songs go after "Daysleeper" but I'm not exactly sure. This is easily fixed though. Three NY songs tacked on the end, most notable E-Bow with Patti Smith. Fills 90 min. A great tape! You want it!

Another excellent show, a great selection of songs. Captured live to tape from Radio 1. Good Good Good! Plus an amusing cover and assorted songs from the Atlanta Green tour. 90 min. as well.

Wow, look at all those songs! WHOOOOO! Anyway, this one of the later stops on the UP tour, and a special hometown show. I have this now, so it reminds me of my concert, but I still need mine on tape! (Tinley Park [Chicago] 8/20/99). Anyway, this show is awesome, with rarely played on this tour Nightswimming, plus other old time favorites. The Monster rockers are awesome too. A really cool show from a great tour. This was originally recorded off of the radio, but somewhere between there and here it found its way onto MP3, but the distortion is very minimal, really only on the clapping. About 105 min.

I believe this is an official bootleg (contradiction in terms), but mine is a tape copy. I have no knowledge of how the title has any relevance or all. The songs are all Out Of Time era radio sessions and live cuts, recorded on three different occasions -- "Out of Time Radio Tour" "Live on Mountain Stage" and "Rockline Rehearsal." (that's what it says on the xerox of the CD back cover anyway). The repeats of the songs are just recorded from different place. Quality is excellent. About 45 (?) min.

The sound quality is average, sounds far away and distorted at times, but it is also pretty clear in some parts too. Hearing Thom Yorke sing with REM is something that you will sacrifice good quality for. Although there're some stupid bastards yelling and screaming at the beginning of Be Mine, they stop soon enough.

I'll be honest, this show doesn't really sound great at all. The guy I got it from rated it at a 'B,' meaning he should seriously reconsider his rating system. It's fairly distorted, probably recorded with a walkman or something. But if you're an REM fan you will enjoy, like I did after I got used to the sound, which isn't all that annoying after a while. A bonus is Neil Young on "Country Feedback"
