Welcome Scholarshop Trips The Stars Poetry by L.P.P.
Welcome Welcome to the Liberty Partnership Program here at Hackett. We are very proud of the crew who came on board since the beginning of the academic school year 2001-2002. This program is funded by the State Education Department and is located at the Center for Women in Government and Civil Society, at SUNY Albany Downtown Campus. This is a comprehensive after school program to assist students graduate from High School into college and/or enter the work force.
With the help of Gargill's investment for ScholarShop, Liberty has been able to assist our Hackett students plan for their future by ensuring academic success at the middle school and high school level, ensuring academic success. Every Monday, students take part of ScholarShop, which is designed to help our students think and make proactive choices about their future. Using Howard Gardner's 8 different "Smarts", students learn to become more aware of themselves, their peers, teachers, parents and the skills needed to succeed in school and in their futures. Additionally, students learn to apply these Intelligences in meaningful situations with the application of various activities, such as skits, poetry, music, art, and presentations. Below, you will find some poems, that were created by some of our most talented L.P.P. students.

In the middle of May, these students will hopefully attend a three day trip to Virginia. While in Virginia, they will be visiting Black Universities, museums, important landmarks and other fun places. These young ladies, have been attending to L.P.P. faithfully and have taken part of the Scholarshop program as well. Click here for more information on other trips.
LIFE Sometimes I feel as though life should not go on. Should it go on? Sometimes I think not because I feel weak instead of strong. All day long I cry inside wanting to die on the outside. Haters, too many haters, trying to perpatrate. I hate being in this world and standing around these girls that refuse to live in this world right. It seems like I am the only person guided by the light. Because I choose to live my life right, no to smoke weed, do good deeds and act civilized. People think I am scared, but I ain't nothing like that. I just don't show my problems, I keep them under a hat.

All I See All I see is u and me, Together I want us to be, you never have to worry I'll be there in a hurry To protect you from harm I'll keep u in my arms Because it's you that's my only charm All I see is a man that is tall, And to you is whom I give my all I am always there when things are tight to let u know that's Everything is alright The things I do for you no one else will do, So hopefully u feel the same way too, Soon together as one will be Cause you and me is all I see

IMiss you
You don't know how much I miss you There's an empty space in my heart I loved being around you and now we're apart Oh how I wish you were here Here sitting next to me The only question that runs through my mind is how could this be how could this be? Why don't you tell me how I miss you so much If only you could see If you could see my tears that flow from my eyes like streams If you could only feel my anger that apears in my dreams I thought I never say it but you're taken away from me now there's nothing I can do but think and wonder now I hope you can her my cries because I'm calling out to you. I will always turn to you because I know you'll help me through!

Heaven Sent
Your worked so hard to get where you are You strived for that light And you made it very far
You've reached that star That once was so high, You influenced me to always try
You were there so I would not fall Even when I didn't care you kept your faith in me you knew I had it all along Without you, I wouldn't have gotten this far
Mrs. Brown, you were there for me at anytime To talk, just to listen, or to just calm me down Mrs. Brown, I am gald you didn't let me down Bello-means beautiful and that's just what you are!
