Take a look at some of what we do

Every day at Mrs. J's house is different, and every day is fun. Activities include group activities as well as individual activities. Often what begins as a group activity becomes an individual activity as the children choose to continue to explore on their own. Activities include but are not limited to....

Circletime and storytime
We sit together everyday to read stories and talk about whatever the children want to share. Group activities often progress into individual activities according to the children's interests.
Feltboard
As an enrichment to our stories we often use the feltboard to add some hands-on fun.
Arts and Crafts
Arts and crafts is always a fun time. Open ended exploration with playdough, paint, markers, crayons and other mediums contributes to an educational, enjoyable experience.
Arts and Crafts
Children of all ages experience art activities according to what is appropriate for their age.
Sharing
The children enjoy showing their pictures to one of my cats.
Playing
The children enjoy playing together.
Visitors
Every year we watch Painted Lady butterflies grow, and then release them.
Backyard Play
The children enjoy playing in my fenced backyard. We play, run, blow bubbles, garden, and just enjoy the great outdoors.
Waterplay
Waterplay is always a favorite activity. Getting wet is fun indoors or outdoors.
Gardening
What seems like ordinary events to adults are fantastic adventures for children. The children harvested green beans and then ate them for lunch.
Visitors
We occasionally have visitors to our child care. The librarian is a regular visitor.
Visitors
Another regular visitor is the Nature Lady. She teaches us about bugs, fish, and other science subjects.
Visitors
We take music classes with another family child care.
