The professor builds a trap to save the castaways from headhunters. The castaways are to hide in a cave. Rocks will fall down from the top of the outside of the cave while the castaways are inside the cave. The castawys will be trapped inside the cave if the trap is sprung. Gilligan inadverently trips the trap proving the point. The castaways were able to dig themselves out of the cave.
The professor does not use logic in setting up the trap. Logic would dictate that anyone inside the cave will be trapped if the trap is sprung.
The castaways find a plane and its pilot on the island.
Feldman and his plane should have been discovered within the first couple of days provided the castaways gave the island a thourough search. An unknown amount of time had passed since the castaways were marooned. This late discovery indicates that the castaways did not do a thourough search of the island.
Gilligan discovers gold. There is a question of who owns the gold. Is the gold Gilligan's since he found it? Is the gold Mr. Howell's since Gilligan was employed by him? The professor acts as a judge to settle the dispute.
A question arises on the professor's ability to act as a judge? The professor is a science professor, and does not have a background in law. He is not qualified to make a decesion, but claims that the gold belongs to everyone since they did agree to share everything on the island.
This was the episode that explains how the castaways became stranded on the island.
The castaways are reminising about the shipwreck while decorating a Christmas tree. Santa Claus appears to put things in a postive perspective. The castaways thing Santa Claus is the skipper since Santa sounds like the skipper. Two questions arise from the appearance of Santa Claus. Where did the Skipper get the Santa Claus suit on the island if Santa was really the skipper? Why didn't Santa Claus rescue the castaways or promise to send help? The second question arises when Santa leaves in one direction and the skipper appears from another one. Also, everyone hears sleigh bells at the end of the episode.
There is a fresh water shortage on the island.
The Howells do a rain dance with American Indian headgear. Where did the Howells find the headgear? The same place that the skipper found the Santa Claus suit?
Gilligan finds a jungle boy in the jungle.
This episode brings up the same question as the one presented when Wrongway Feldman was found. Why didn't the castaways find the jungle boy until now. Wrongway never mentioned that there was anyone else on the island.
The skipper suffers from amnesia after getting hit on the head.
This episode defines Ginger's true nature. In many episodes, Ginger flirts to get her way or to intice visitors to help get her off the island. The skipper makes advances towards her while under the affects of amnesia. Ginger flees from the skipper indicating that she is nothing more than a tease and a gold digger.
The professor is working on a liguid substance that will glow in the dark.
The professor shows poor judgement in placing a bowl of the substance in front of Gilligan who is eating to gain weight. Gilligan winds up eating the substance; therefore, ruining another attempt for a rescue. The substance would have been placed on a raft at night.
Gilligan catches a magician's trunk while fishing.
Gilligan has a rabbit on his head. Ginger tells Gillagan to get rid of the rabbit count to 100 by 3. Counting to 100 by three is impossible. 3 does not divide into 100. 99 or 102 would have been better numbers since they both are divisible by 3.
Counting from 1 to 100 is possible. The sequence is 1, 4, 7, ..., 97, 100 which is 3n - 2. 3 times a choosen number minus 2 results in a specific number in the sequence. 3 * 34 - 2 = 100 which means 100 is the 34th number in the sequence.
The castaways discover the painter Dubov.
Once again the castaways discover another resident of the island after some time has past. There is never any mention about Dubov from Feldman nor is there any mention about Feldman or the jungle boy from Dubov. Granted that some people do not know everyone in their own neighborhood. Wouldn't someone run into someone else while finding stuff to survive on an deserted island?
