Odds and Ends

  1. American broadcast television is sticter than British broadcast television in what is allowed on a show. I was watching the first season of Torchwood, a BBC show, and there were two words that are not allowed on American broadcast television.
  2. Stephen King may have been influenced by the movie The Birds when writing The Dark Half. There are references to birds in the King book.
  3. I no longer use a must read pile in choosing books. I now use a javascript that randomly chooses a book.
  4. My Misscelaneous Movie page has been renamed Documentary.
  5. Borrowing a television series from a library and better than renting the show from Netfllix. I can get an entire season from the library and have it for 6 days if I borrow the show from the library. I receive 1 disk at a time from Netfllix. I can watch the show faster by borrowing from the library. There is one drawback with the library. The library does not carry all the shows that I am looking for.
  6. Why is it something lost always is found when not looking for it?
  7. I wonder which is the cheapest way to travel cross counry. Planes, trains and buses only cost the fare and food and then the cost of lodging. There is multiple lodging cost along with food and gas costs while travelling by car.
  8. I've read 8 books in 2 months. There is a possibility that I could read 48 books this year.
  9. I started working on a new book entitled Unusual Mathematical Applications and Stories
  10. I am now involved with a web site where people can trade paperback books. http://www.paperpackswap.com
  11. I already sent out Rhubarb by H. Allen Smith through http://www.paperpackswap.com
  12. I am in the process of outlining an Intermediate Algebra book. The book will be called Intermediate Algebra: A Gentle Approach
