Fantasyland begins with Cinderella's Castle, and is the home of all of the Disney character's signature rides. Many people don't know that you can actually go inside of the castle. There's a merchandise shop there, as well as a restaraunt. The walls inside Cinderella's Castle are lined with large murals of scenes from the movie. Here is a list of the other attractions of Fantasyland: |
Cinderella's Golden Carrousel The carousel was built in 1917 and was found at Olympic Park in Maplewood, New Jersey. Disney renovated the carousel, adding 18 hand-painted scenes on the wooden canopy above the horses. Merlin, from Disney's Sword in the Stone, holds a daily ceremony in front of the carousel. Dumbo the Flying Elephant A herd of 10 flying elephants welcome you at this ride. These flying animals circle around and fly at different heights. You can see all of Fantasyland from this ride. This one is a lot of fun for the kids. Snow White's Adventures This ride is based on the world's very first animated motion picture, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Passengers board mine carts with the names of the seven dwarfs on them. They take you through major points in the movie that re-tell the story. The ride is a little scary for small children, but it's not too bad. This is one of our favorite rides in the whole park. The Mad Tea Party The ride is based on Alice in Wonderland, and guest get in giant tea cups that spin around, and around, and...you get the picture. A very fun ride that puts a little dizziness in your day. It's A Small World This is one of the most popular attractions here. Guests board boats and take an around-the-world tour through the eyes of children. Each country has animatronic children that sing in native clothing and backgrounds. A delightful ride that will have you singing the theme song the rest of the day. Peter Pan's Flight Visitors fly in pirate ships that hover over scenes from the movie. You'll fly over London and Never Land as Pan fights the evil doings of Captain Hook. The dark atmosphere combined with black light makes this a fun ride. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh This is a fairly new attraction in which you ride in buckets of honey. In the ride, Pooh is having a dream that you get to participate in. The jars of honey springs you up and down, especially when Tigger makes his appearance. This is a fun one. The Legend of the Lion King This is a attraction in which guest sit in an auditorium and watch a combination of film clips and large, sophisticated puppets that tell the story of The Lion King. The loud sound effects and music from the movie make this ride a must see for children. |
