Downtown Disney Resorts

The Downtown Disney Resorts area has seven different resorts for guests to choose from.  All of these resorts offer great accomodations, service, and location.  Guests who stay in this area are treated to complimentary transportation to all of the Disney theme parks, meaning you don't have to pay for parking.  They also allow you to purchase your tickets, usually in the gift shop near the lobby.  The best part about this area is that you're in walking distance to all of the shops, restaurants, and entertainment of Downtown Disney.

The Best Western Lake Buena Vista This resort is the first on the right immediatley after entering the resort area.  It's an award-winning hotel holding 325 rooms and suites over 18 floors.  There are two restaurants and a lounge on the top floor that has a view of the entire Walt Disney World area.  We stayed at this resort in the summer of 2001, and had a wonderful stay. Amenities include: Heated pool Kiddie pool Access to 5 Disney golf courses Disney gift shop Laundry facilities Playgroung Convenience store Courtyard by Marriott The Courtyard by Marriott also has 325 rooms, including suites.  It offers a high standard of service, hospitality, and a comfortable residential feel.  There is a 14 story-tall atrium inside that overlooks a tropical garden, a fountain, and the hotel's glass elevators.  Amenities include: Restaurant, deli, bar & breakfast Two heated swimming pools w/pool bar Kiddie pool Exercise room Currency exchange Guest laundry Car rental Grosvenor Resort The Grosvenor has a 19-story tower and two wings.  It has 626 rooms and suites and has British Colonial design.  There's a lot to do here with the extra recreational facilites.  Guests can golf at the nearby courses, or play tennis at either of the two lighted tennis courts.  There's even a fitness center, volleyball courts, basketball courts,  and a game room available.  Amenities include: Two heated swimming pools w/hot tub Kiddie pool Movie rental Video camera rental Car rental Business center Hotel Royal Plaza The Hotel Royal Plaza is located beside the Courtyard and is pretty much similar to the its surrounding hotels.  The Plaza has four lighted tennis courts and a health club to add a little more recreation for guests.  Amenities include: Heated pool and therapeutic pool Laundry facilities W.H. Smith gift shop Car rental DoubleTree Guest Suites The DoubleTree resort is the only all-suite resort in the Downtown Disney area.  The award-winning resort is seven stories has 229 suites that accommodate up to six guests.  The suites have a seperate living room, a pullout sofa, a wet bar, microwave, refrigerator, and data ports, and three TVs.  Amenities include: Heated pool w/ whirlpool spa Complimentary DoubleTree cookies in every room Two lighted tennis courts White-sand volleyball court Kids' theater Game room Car rental Exercise room Wyndham Resort & Spa The Wyndham Resort & Spa stretches over 27 acres with 1,014 rooms and suites.  The rooms even include Sony Playstations.  The resort also has nine on-site restaurants.  Amenities include: Three heated swimming pools Three lighted tennis courts European-style spa and fitness center Sand volleyball Currency exchange Car rental Game room The Hilton Resort The Hilton has 814 rooms that hold up to four guests.  There are four restaurants on site, which include outdoor dining, breakfast with the Disney characters, and Japanese steakhouse.  The rooms also have data ports and voice mail available for guests.
