Age: 20 Occupation: Student, actress, bilingual aide What is your favorite food? My favorite food is my Mom's spaghetti - there is nothing in the world that can make me feel more at-home! What is your favorite movie? American Beauty What magazines do you regularly read or subscribe to? I don't subscribe to any magazines, but the magazines that I buy most often are Cosmopolitan, Style, Entertainment, and Weight Watchers Magazine. I also swipe my mom's Women's World magazines on a regular basis. *grin* What city/state/country would you most like to visit? This is a tough one. There are so many places I'd like to go! If I had to pick an "only", though, I think it would have to be the Isle of Skye, in Scotland. My heritage is primarily Scottish, with both the Macaulays and the Mcleods making their marks. Clan McLeod hails from the Isle of Skye, and in fact the castle on the Isle, Dunvegan, belongs to the McLeods. (www.dunvegancastle.com has more information on the McLeods and Dunvegan, if you're interested.) What featured do you like most about yourself? My smile, definitely. It's not a movie star smile, but I have a great smile nonetheless. :) My favorite compliment: "Well, here comes the girl with the prettiest smile in town!" - Dave the Video Guy Who is your best friend? I met my best friend, Lauren, when we were randomly paired to be dorm roommates at the University of Alaska Anchorage. I was terrified that I was going to be paired with someone I couldn't live with - instead I met the best friend I've ever had, and we ended up transferring to a college in Arizona together, and being roommates there as well! We have had incredibly similar lives, with many of the same obstacles. What is interesting, though, is that we have both dealt with these obstacles in very different ways. We are two quite different personalities, but we compliment each other. I can't imagine what college would have been like without her! What is your most prized material possession? Don't laugh... it's my baby blanket, more casually known as the "bankee blankee". It's a faded yellow baby blanket with pictures of Bambi and his friends on it that has been worn out enough to warrant two separate repair jobs. My cousin Joy made it for me when I was born, and it has seen every part of my life. It is the only possession of mine that made it through a housefire when I was in first grade; it was only saved by my stubborn insistence to take it in the car with me that morning. It has stains from the few years during my childhood when I had what seemed like a million nosebleeds, and invisible stains of tears from nights when I was scared of the dark. It's been to 5 different states, and been rescued from two dogs and a cat. There are more memories in that blanket than in any photo album in the world. What is your favorite thing about your American state? My favorite thing about Alaska is the "pioneer spirit". Everyone is willing to help out their neighbors, and no matter how impossible a task may seem, there's always someone willing to "give it a go". Anything is possible in Alaska, because of the people who live here. Interests/hobbies/activities: dancing, acting, Russian, writing in my journal, reading, sewing, virtually anything creative, spirituality, bellydancing, learning about different religions, beliefs, and cultures, animals, community service. |
