Testimony of Eleazar Dichoso Llarenas (Fahad)

ELEAZAR  Dichoso  Llarenas was born in Payocpoc Norte, Bauang, La Union in the Philippines. He was a former Christian Roman Catholic by faith. He embraced Islam on March 18, 1993 and his Muslim name is Fahad. He is presently working as Engineering Supervisor in the Saudi Building Technic Maintenance Company Ltd. Assigned at their project in Al Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh. Following is the story of his conversion to Islam in his own words.

Description  before  embracing Islam

As a Christian believer it is from my nature of being too fanatic. I have attended various Eucharistic Crusade Schooling and a member of several civic and spiritual organization and community development. I believe before in the unity of God being the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit all in the person of Jesus, the God Incarnate. According to the teachings of the Church, through incarnation God descended down from heaven to the earth in the form of a man Jesus Christ in order for Him to feel the nature of man and to save them from their sin by sacrificing Himself to die in the cross for the attainment of becoming from a mortal to an immortal or a spirit in order for him to serve mankind forever. Every communion we have during prayer, I usually preferred to set in the front row so that I will be among the first worshipper to share in this Lord's supper prayer and the first to bite the biscuit representing the flesh of Jesus and drink the wine that substitute for his blood so that the spirit of Jesus be with us.

How I embraced Islam

Alhamdulillah, in 1984 I have a chance to work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia however only in the year 1993 that Allah has permitted me to embrace Islam. While in the Kingdom and being a fanatic Christian I usually pray during night time in isolation asking God for His guidance, sometimes as if there is whisper answering my prayers saying "search for the true guidance". This event happens most often times especially during my night prayer however I never listen to it.  One night when I was in my bed while in the state between consciousness and sleep as if the darkest night of the sky got opened from my vision and there I saw the image of Jesus with his heart blinking telling me to search for the true guidance, I asked him where can I find the true guidance? Then his image vanished and again I heard a whisper saying in Makkah. The following morning I asked my fellow Egyptian workers, what is there in Makkah? From them I learned that Baytillah, The House of God is there rebuilt by Prophets Abraham and his son Ismael, the ancestors of Jesus and Mohammad peace be upon them. They further added that this place is sacred full of Muslims men and women circumambulating it by day and night all in worship and praises of the Lord of Creations. I asked them how can I go there? They told me I must renounce first my creed being a polytheist by nature because associating partners to God is polytheism and I must accept His oneness without associating a partner in His Names, Attributes and Lordship. In that day I directly went to the Office of the World Assembly on Muslim Youth in Riyadh and requested their assistance how I will become a Muslim and Praised be to Allah they let me profess the "Sahadah" LAILAHA ILLALLAHU MOHAMMADAN RASULOLLAH meaning There is no deity worthy of worship except the One True God Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger.

My life after embracing Islam

Alhamdulillah , within a few weeks after embracing Islam Allah has permitted me to go to Makkah for Umrah and performed the necessary rituals, without my knowledge while performing this ritual , our company accommodation in Arqa, Zahran Camp in Riyadh was gutted by fire  and to the great surprise of others as well as my companions in my room and only my belongings was saved from burning despite of its vulnerability from the fire instead the fire stopped upon reaching the wall of my room . This incident has shown me a tangible proofs to Surah Fussilat verse 18 in which Allah said "And we saved those who believed and used to fear Allah, keep their duty to Him and avoid evil ways." I found many changes in my life. My faith in God has been re-invigorated, my love for this life enhances for the sake of Allah. Peace of mind and tranquility can be attained through Prayers and remembrance of death becomes a part of my life daily. Love and forgiveness towards others started to develop and patience becomes spice of my life. Comprehension between the relations of God , man and the environment broadened in my understanding. All I can say is that the true guidance is in Islam. Presently I am cooperating with the Cooperative Office for Call and Guidance in Al Sulay area, Riyadh in their propagation and daawah program for the sake of Allah. I am inviting the lovers of peace and the seekers of truth regardless of creed and origin to try Islam in their life because time is not yet too late for them.  I am sure you can have the best of it or shall we say Paradise of Allah is in Islam.
