Samir's Testimony
Since my childhood, I was already religious. Reading the Bible and praying to Jesus Christ was a daily routine. Twice I have read the Bible, which has the 66 books. I also read some books regarding Hinduism.
When I came to Saudi Arabia to work, I became very interested in reading the Holy Quraan. So I borrowed the one with the English translation from a co-worker. In the course of my reading, I already found myself discussing with a propagator from the Guidance Center who happens to speak my mother tongue - Telugu. I was very happy upon meeting him due to his good explanations regarding my doubts regarding Islam.
One day, while resting on my bed reading the Quraan, I felt asleep and experienced an amazing dream. I dreamt of standing on top of the hill near the Holy Makkah. There I saw Prophet Ibrahim, alayhi salaam, standing at the gate of Makkah. Then he looked at me and pointing his stake to me, saying with high voice; John, come. You are near the Holy Makkah. Verily, Allah has chosen you.
A week after this amazing dream, I dreamt once more wherein I saw an old man carrying in his right hand a book. He said to me; John, verily you have chosen the right path that will reach you to Allah. So I requested from the old man to hand me the book. His response was; No need for this. You will understand its contents. This dream continued for ten days. After which I finally embraced Islam.
John embraced Islam on the 24th of Dul Qaidah 1419 and adopted the name Samir. To some particularly among the agnostics, his testimony may seem very fantastic or unbelievable. But such experiences may happen to anyone. These are just few of the signs of Allah, azza wajjal, on how guidance reaches an individual who is sincerely searching for truth. Allah said in the Quraan:
Then we gave the Book for inheritance to such of Our slaves
whom We chose. Then of them are some who wrong their ownselves, and of them are some who
follow a middle course, and of them are some who are, by Allahs Leave, foremost in
good deeds. That (inheritance of the Quraan) that is indeed a great
grace.
(Surah 35:32)
Bro. Samir is from Hyderabad, India and presently working at the New Jeddah Clinic Hospital as a House-Keeping Supervisor.
