Finally, I started Sky City again. Now there's a huge gap in the timing, but so what, I never had a time table to begin with. One of the intresting things about this project, since it's taking so long to make; you can see the difference between quality in the pictures. When I first started this project I never had a computer of my own, all my drawings were done on my desk. Now I have my own computer, and have a desk to work on; it's wall to wall computer. I now have a digital camera, the pictures are coming out much clearer then before. Looking at the start of the project, I used a cheap digicam (XGA), web camera, better web cam, etc. From this point on, the picture quality should be much better... Though I think I botched the sharpening a little.
Anyway, this is the last of the four window walls. They are all complete now. Yay! Yatta! Hooray! Though I tend to design projects with many tiny pieces, I don't like tiny pieces, and I tended to stay away from the project. After a while it just sat there, being ignored. I finally told myself, that I would try to put an at least one hour each day and work on it. Though it took a while, it's finally done.
The back of each wall is not as neat as the front. The arches were not made as even as I would have liked, but looking at it from the front, you really can't tell. From the back, however, it's another story. On some, not all, the windows tend to overhang a bit, by as much as a 1/4" in some places. The solder is tucked into the seams to prevent light leakage from around each window. There's pictures of it on the next page.
Here it is lit, with the mighty power of the sun... Ignore the disembodied hand.
Total Time: 7 hours 30 minutes
