When I first heard of the word "blog" then in the mid of 90's, I was perplexed as to how so I did not hear this "blog" beforehand, being involved in the English literature for over 4 decades! Obviously, I begun shuffling pages of my six copies of dictionaries but no one could handle my query. The reason is basic...... the word "BLOG" simply did not present in my dictionaries including the Oxford Dictionary!
Then Oxford dictionary of Modern Slang came to my benefit, that was the result of frantic hunt. Dictionary reads "blog posting noun: An Internet site containing a universal and regularly posted variety of matters of interest to its author." Not happy with this half-hearted and inexplicit definition, I tried the Interweb to do more "research".
To my surprise! I've received certain more good citations. Some right ones are:
