  • Singer Moon Trent dropped by Studio 105 at the Sony Metreon and was lucky enough to score an interview from JAKE who was charming and played "Don't Look Back", making Brown-Star the last and happiest band featured from that location which also saw the likes of DJ Shadow, Coldplay and others!... Thanks JAKE!

  • Brown-Star is alive and well and working on songs for a new CD e.p. The e.p. will be called "Defragmenting" and include the songs "Arena Rock", "Free Kitten", "Watering the Seed", a song originally done by Brett's former band Tel Basta and our version of John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High". Should've been out last year but Moon was in England most of last year.

  • We hope to do some music with U.K. band Stuntman whom we played with in Brooklyn October 8th 1999.

  • Brown-Star (Brett Klinker & Moon trent) have just returned from NYC where they promoted their debut CD "Due Damage" on the Howard Stern Show! This will air on The Howard Stern Radio Show on CBS this Saturday 06 November, 1999. There will also be a 2-part show on E! this Monday and Tuesday 08 & 09 November, 1999.

  • Brown-Star has completed their debut CD, "Due Damage" released on 9/9/99 from timmi-kat ReCoRDS (tk006). Produced by the band and Ian Swanke. Expect acoustic shows with Moon and Brett in support of "Due Damage".

  • Brown-Star has been included on the just released "OutLoud: The Encyclopedia of Gay and Lesbian Recordings" . Brown-Star's listing...

  • Brown-Star headlined an outdoor show in San Francisco's Castro District this past Easter Sunday 1999 with Phranc, one of our all-time faves for the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence 25th Anniversary. Moon got to do a number, "Twirly", with Phranc during her set. About seven thousand people were there. Brown-Star was asked to appear at GAY PRIDE '99 immediately following their set. This may or may not happen as A. Lund, bass player has quit.

  • timmi-kat ReCoRDS has collaborated with A Kick Produkt in the release of "Cultivation Vol. 4", a CD compilation of 19 bands including Tel Basta, Big Girl, Vaportrail, Brown-Star, Big Breakfast and more. Out NOW! Brown-Star contributes their second single, "Something's Happening" featuring A. Lund on cello.

  • timmi-kat ReCoRDS has released a CD compilation to benefit the Harvey Milk Institute. Featuring: Brown-Star, Chumbawamba, Spackle, Red House Painters, Perch, and Phranc. The CD is called Milkshake (tk005) and was released 21 July 1998 with record release parties to follow...The first one was 14 September at the Great American Music Hall with !Tang, 100 Watt Smile, Brown-Star, and 7th Betty.
