The Upside-

Racial Bonuses:
  • Natural Armor class of 6
  • +2 bonus on surprise roll
  • Infravision 30 feet
  • 2-8 Head butt on man sized creatures (when charging does ((2-8)X2))
  • Starting Hit Dice are doubled at 1st level
Initial Languages: Common, Orc, Goblin, Kobold, Gnoll, and Ogre*

Talents: None

Allowable Classes: Fighter (U), Barbarian (U), Berserker (U), Knight-Errant (U), Paladin (3), Magic User (7) and Cleric (5). In their home dimension, the Cleric and Paladin both have max levels of 12. If the two Minotaur Gawds get more followers in Garweeze World, the advance levels for the Paladin and the Cleric will increase.

Attribute Modifiers: +4 Str, +3 Con, -3 Int, -4 Cha, -7 Com

Building Points: 6

Restricted Talents which may be purchased: Acute Sense of Smell, Damage Bonus, Dense Skin, Endurance, and Axe Bonus.

The Downside-
  • Minotaurs qualify as large creatures and suffer more damage from many weapons.
  • Certain smaller races that enjoy a combat bonus versus Half-Ogres also enjoy it versus Minotaurs.
  • -2 penalty to attack rolls versus dwarves.
  • -4 penalty to attack rolls against gnomes.
  • Their armor and other garb cost 200% more than that of Humans.
  • -2 reaction rolls penalty from other player humanoid race except Half-Orc and Half-Ogre.
  • They start automatically with the HackLust and HackFrenzy Quirks. They do not receive the Build Points for these Quirks.
  • Clerics and Paladins are also restricted to the two Minotaur Gawds. A member of these two classes will also have the Albino Flaw for no Build Points.

*The number of languages a Minotaur may learn is limited by his intelligence (see Table 1D in the PHB) or by the Building Points/ training he devotes to languages.

Minotaurs
It might be hard to reverse the prejudice that most people think about Minotaurs. Most people just think they hang out in mazes and are amazingly bloodthirsty and bull headed. However, this is exactly what they want you to think.

Minotaurs are humanoid beings that possess the head of a bull and the body of a human. They tend to be tall (over 7 foot) and very well muscular. Short fur, which can be any color of the rainbow, covers their frame and thin fuzz covers their forearms and face. The horns of the male species tend to be about 1-2 feet long while the females’ generally are smaller than a foot.

Most Minotaurs do not simply wear a loincloth. Normal Minotaurs will wear cloth and leathers for everyday use. They tend to favor metals including chain, plate and scale for combat. Earrings and nose rings are more common to see than rings or necklaces.

The origin of the Minotaur has always been a question, scholars have never been able to answer. Are they a result of a curse? Did a mage create them? Actually they are from a different dimension. During the battle of the Gawds, Onyxi, the Minotaur Gawd of Pure Spirituality, and Kilmore, the Minotaur Gawd of Hacking, refused to fight for either side and left to another dimension. In this dimension, the two Gawds found a race of humanoids with bullheads that were very obedient. The two Gawds helped these first small clans forge a mighty empire. During their self-imposed exile, the two never forgot their old home in Garweeze world. When they felt their new followers were strong enough they had their priests and magicians open a portal back into Garweeze world. A hundred thousand Minotaur warriors bravely stepped through to capture this dimension for their Gawds. However Onyxi and Kilmore were not expecting what happened next. The victors from the war of the Gawds had placed a very strong enchantment on Garweeze’s dimension to combat a tactic like this. Ever single Minotaur warrior who entered the portal was struck dumb and they lost all their memory from the time before they entered the portal. Needless to say this fearsome fighting force was reduced to a big mob that knew no purpose. Some of the creatures started pillaging, some fought with each other, and most of the rest just wandered off in different directions. This is the source of most of the Minotaurs in Garweeze world.

When Onyxi and Kilmore found out what had happened to their once proud army, they were furious. They began to examine the enchantment that had caused the loss of their huge army. After many centuries of study, they found a way around the enchantment so that a Minotaur who entered Garweeze world without losing their mind. The bad new was that they could only allow five Minotaurs a month through the portal plus they could only take what they could physically carry. They began sending warriors through slowly, however it was too slowly. Most of the new arrivals became bored and started to roam the country in search of battle. Onyxi and Kilmore were very displeased with these initial groups actions. For many years nobody else was allowed to enter Garweeze World. This changed one day when one of the Minotaur from the second expedition came back. He had learned the ways of magic and had found an item that could be used to help break the enchantment. Unfortunately the item was not strong enough on its own. The two Gawds began sending Minotaurs back to Garweeze in the hopes that could locate more of these items that will help them to break the enchantment. The player character is one of the Minotaurs who have been dispatched to locate such an item.

Notes for playing Minotaur characters:

If there is ever a chance to get an item of power that could be used to break the enchantment, a Minotaur will use whatever means necessary to secure it. Whatever character secures the item and gets it back to the Minotaur’s dimension safely will receive a 3,000 xp bonus.

Paladin and Clerics are Albino to show their respect to their patron Gawds and to let others know what path they follow. Minotaur Clerics have bluish ruins tattooed on their skins to represent their place in their church. Clerics of Kilmore are allowed to use axes as their weapon of choice while clerics of Onyxi are restricted to the normal weapons allowable to clerics.
