Hess's Fireball Magic User Spell Level: 4 Casting Time: 1 round Duration: Instantaneous Range: 0 Area of Effect: 20 yards per level in diameter Saving Throw: Special Components: VSM Created by: Will Originally developed by the Archmage Hess, this spell proved his undoing. Later rediscovered by a powerful Pyromancer named Nero, he made this spell widely feared- as he had somehow found a way around it's short comings. With the spell he ravaged the land far and wide until brought down by a crossbow bolt in the back. When cast, it unleashes a tremendous fireball centered on the caster, dealing 1d20 per level of the caster. The fireball engulfs everything, including the caster- who does not receive a saving throw, though all others may save for half. It is unknown how Nero circumvented this lethal problem- and prayed by most that this knowledge remains lost.
