Pantomime's very own Gozaldo or what ever his name was. Perhaps the next Arnold Schwarzenegger in Hollywood casting line??Uuuuhh..check out those biceps!

Okay, it was a comparatively acceptable farewell dinner considering that it was organized by a bunch of US whom some had never had any experience in handling such huge task as this. Without fail this year's SOUBETSUKAI which was held on the 2nd of February 2001 had once again "unbroke" the tradition of Malaysian Standard Time...you know what I mean. Despite that, we were all welcomed with a rather eccentric opening dance which was highly rated(I hear) by our senpais. "GLOW IN THE DARK" as the dance was called had girls wearing white gloves which appeared "glowing" as the UV light hits them. Although it had a slightly rough finale the dance which was trooped by Ungku Hezlen Ungku Kadir became highlight of the night. Two thumbs up girl!

   Emcees ,
Zaidi, Siti Aisyah, Ismail and Ayuni Dalila opened the evening with grace. Unforgetting Mohd Izham who led us in prayers shortly after that. Following the event, were a couple of speech which have become a norm in any events for that matter. Thus, upon hearing our hungry bellies churning across the dinner hall, dinner was immediately served shortly afterwards. On top of that, we weren't just tantalized by the food (yeah right), soothing sentimental and classical numbers by Rafidah Anum and Katerina Ali accompanied us throughout the dinner.

Although next in line was rather time wise disorganized, aspiring actors and actresses from RPKJ program would soon be replacing Awie and Erra Fazira in Haslam's next blockbuster.:) Directed by
Faiz Fauzi, the pantomime can be considered entertaining for that night despite being marred by some technical problems and linguistic barriers (this goes for non-Malay speakers). Better luck next time guys!

Slotted in between the performances, were lucky draws drawn by a couple of the VIPs who were invited. During that intervals, there were a few significant moments that made the night a night to remember (you know what I mean):).Nevertheless, on the whole, the emcees appeared confident and rather natural.

   As the evening proceeded, a
nasyid group gave it all with voices soaring high praising The Almighty.
Keep in view for these dudes girls! The next performance which was
dikir barat was extremely energetic, colorful and exotic that I can't help thinking that they were in trance during the performance for they seem oblivious to the surrounding and eyes rolling wild. Either way, it was superb.

Reaching the finale, caught some of our
KOHAI girls marveling over 2 exquisite talents of SEMPAI's (note:otoko) giving a number from the ever notorious GTO's slow version of POISON (sigh). The climax, lead by Mohd Shahnun, in reminiscent of the times and struggle our SEMPAIs went through before reaching the summit had us clung together (note:onna with onna and vice versa)
singing
MIRAE a popular hit by Japanese song tress, KIRORO.

The dinner drew a close about 11.30p.m. Those who were less fortunate didn't even get a bite of the finely selected menu by
Sazly:). On the whole, despite the minor lapse that occurred, we had a great time. Soubetsukai 2001 was a success, TOTALLY!:)

Receptionists and ushers of the night appeared with much poise and style. Hmm.. I wonder whether anybody got seated...

Budding Bollywood talents showing of some of their rock-yer-booties skills in one of the pantomime scenes. Groovy baby!

Katerina & Rafidah Anum accompanied the dinner with several sentimental and classical numbers.
