Order for documents

How to Order:

ARIC welcomes orders for CD-ROMS and for Photocopies of documents, as long as the number of pages is kept to a reasonable number.

Orders for the following may be placed

1. The CD-ROM:

The ARIC Bibliography Database (ABD) on CD-ROM is an easy-to-use database developed by the ACBAR Resource and Information Centre for documentation on Afghanistan. Anyone with a personal computer capable of handling a CD-ROM drive can use this database. The ARIC CD-ROM currently holds 8,550 catalogued titles.

. Cost for the CD-ROM is as follows:

A CD-ROM. Rs. 800
Postage charges. Rs. 75
Handling charges. Rs. 10%
Total. Rs. 962 (US $17)

Here is a look at some of the information contained in the ARIC Bibliographic Database.

* Titles, sub-titles, alternate titles and series titles of documents.
* Authors, translators, editors and compilers.
* Subject Headings (specific subject headings from the US
Library of Congress Subject Headings List)
* Organizations and publishers.
* Publication details and place of publication.
* Call number

2. The ARIC BULLETIN:

Materials acquired each month are listed by category in the monthly ARIC Bulletin. Each issue averages 4 pages. Please be sure to include the assigned Call Number when sending orders from the Bulletin.

Cost for photocopying DOCUMENTS is Rs. 2 per page.

When ordering please include Author, title, Organization - and do not forget the Call Number.

(Charges for fewer or more pages will be adjusted)

Please do not send checks by the post - they tend to get lost in the mail. Bank transfers are much safer.
