Rinoa ~ Final Fantasy VIII
About the Costume
This costume was never quite right, probably because of the fabric I used. It was the right color just the wrong texture. The pattern for the coat/cape thingy was made by me laying down on a bunch of pieced together newsprint paper checking my height then wrapping it around myself and cutting out armholes and such. It was a very weird process. I actually bought the official Rinoa necklace that came with a copy of Squall's ring. The shoes were old combat boots I had which I added a small plate of nickle used in my highschool jewelry making class. The shorts never actually had zippers in them, in fact when I made this costume I didn't even know that's what they were suppose to be. Instead I took two silver chains I had and sewed them on to the shorts and at the end I sewed on metal hairclips, very getto but it looked ok. The skirt was bought at savers and cut off so that it was the short little thing like she wears and the buttons added.
