Chapter Eleven

Alecia paced around her room; she was hesitating and she knew it. She didn't want to have to thank him, but her friends were right in knowing that she had manners and would go over and do it eventually. She slumped down on her bed and sighed. She wasn't sure why she was so hesitant to talk to him, he wasn't that bad. There was a part of her though, that just didn't want to have anything to do with him; he was dangerous. She got up and headed out the door; why delay the inevitable. As she walked down the hall to his room, the realization just now hitting her that they were on the same floor. Deciding it was a curse of some sort, she knocked hesitantly. The door opened.

"Ok, what'd I do this time? Should I move out of the way so you can come storming in here?"

Alecia stared at him. "I knew this was stupid. . . forget it." She started to walk away when Nick reached out and stopped her.

"Look I'm sorry, I can be a real jerk sometimes."

"Sometimes?"

He sighed. "Anyway, what's up?"

"Nothing."

"Ok."

"Fine."

"Umm. . . Alecia?"

"What?"

"Why are you here then?"

"You know, I'm not sure. I don't want to be here, but I really have no choice. It's embedded in me to be mannersome. Remind me to yell at my parents for that one."

Nick chuckled. "What are you talking about?"

Alecia sighed. "I came to thank you for helping me and my friends get back together. You have to be somewhat of a decent person I guess to help us out the way you did. You could've been even more of a jerk than you already are and not done anything. So I just wanted to thank you."

Nick blanched. "Uhh. . . thanks, I think."

"Ok good. Bye."

Nick thought for a minute; this was perfect. "Wait, wait, don't you have to see if I accept your thanks before it's official?"

"So what are you saying?"

"Ask me."

"Ask you what?" Nick gave her a look. "Oh fine, fine. . . do you accept my thanks?"

Nick grinned. "No, No. I don't."

Alecia stared at him coldly. "Oh? And why's that?"

"Cause you didn't repay me."

Her eyes widened, he was truly sick. "You goddamn asshole! If you think. . . how could you. . . and I called you decent! You are a sick bastard do you know that? Just stay the. . . " She stopped as she watched Nick double over in laughter.

"Oh, so you think this shit is funny don't you! Damn sicko! Why are you laughing? What? Did you honestly think I'd go along with your advances? Hell no! I'm outta here!" She yelled and started to walk off when Nick ran in front of her and held her still.

"Get your damn hands off me! So help me god, if you wanna live to see tomorrow, you'll take your hands off me. . . NOW!" She spat.

Nick was still chuckling as he looked at her. "I. . . I'm sorry Alecia. . . No no, I didn't mean like that." He smiled.

"Oh right! And what, you wanted to get together and do each other's hair! Get out of my way!" She grated.

"No, I wanted you to have dinner with me." He responded seriously.

"You're joking right?"

"Dead serious."

"No way."

"Well you'll be indebted to me then."

"Come on, can't you just drop this? Don't torture me like this."

Nick crossed his arms, he was enjoying this. He loved it when she got riled; she looked so cute. He shook his head, cute? Where'd that come from? "Nope, it's either dinner or I'm sure I could come up with some other way." He winked.

"Oh to hell with it, fine! When do you want to do this?"

"Tonight, I'll come to your room and we can go together."

"Why don't you just tell me where and I'll meet you there."

"Nu-uh, this is my thing and we're gonna do it my way."

"Shit." She mumbled. "Fine."

"Ok, so I'll be by your room at around 7:30."

"How am I supposed to dress for this?"

"Semi-casual."

She whirled around and headed back to her room. Nick laughed as he watched her make her way into the room and try to slam it but with no success as the door was made to shut quietly. He shook his head and headed back into his room to call AJ and get ready for that night.
