Chapter Seventeen

He brushed the hair back from her face and placed a gentle kiss on her cheek to be rewarded with her hands running through his hair. He turned so that he was lying on her, kissing her softly. He ran his hands down her body and pulled her shirt up and over her head, and tossed it on the floor. He could feel her tremble beneath his touch, he ran his hands lightly up her back, unhooked her bra, pulling it off. He brought his lips down to hers again, to kiss her passionately. Letting everything that had built up in him from the moment he first saw her, come through that kiss. All the longing and agony and desire flowed through him and he pressed his hips against her to hear her moan and call out his name. He continued his assault on her lips and moved his hands down to her jeans which he quickly unbuttoned and removed. With all his experience in pleasing a woman, he felt oddly self conscious. He wanted it to be perfect, just right. Anything less was unacceptable. He felt her hands come up to his boxers and start to pull them down slowly, he shifted and she slid them down. He pulled her underwear down slowly to drop on the floor. His lips trailed down along her throat to her chest and lower where he sucked on her aching flesh. She called out, her hands weaving through his hair. He wanted her so much, to feel what he felt. He nudged his knee in-between her legs and lowered himself in-between her thighs. He brought his hands down and massaged at her thighs, while his mouth explored her stomach. She felt so good in his hands, so right. He prepared himself for their joining. Now was the moment he'd been waiting for. The moment he would have her, the moment he'd make her his. The time had come and he moved then...

Nick bolted up in the bed, his heart racing and fully aroused. He swallowed hard and looked around the room before his eyes rested on the figure next to him. Had it been a dream? He looked at the tv which was now only a blue screen. He remembered the movies and slumped back down next to Alecia. It was just a dream. He got up and went over and turned the stereo on low. He came back over and got back on the bed, putting his arm back around her and leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. She stirred slightly and sighed and snuggled in closer to him. He watched her intently, singing along softly with the song that was now playing.

If the world was on fire, No one could save me but you Strange what desire will make foolish people do, I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you, I never dreamed that I'd loose somebody like you

He sang the words, knowing she couldn't hear him. She'd never hear what he was trying to tell her. It was his own fault. He was falling, only she could save him.

No, I don't wanna fall in love, No, I don't wanna fall in love With you

She heard a soft voice, just beyond her thoughts, beyond her dreams. Somewhere she couldn't reach. That voice, so calming, so...soothing. If she could touch it, feel it inside...if only...

Nick traced her face with his fingertip, so soft. His finger trailed over her soft, full lips. So warm, so inviting. What he wouldn't give. Only she could make him feel this way, only she could make him dream. The game had gotten way out of hand, he was no longer in control and he didn't want to be. He only wanted her.

He sang...

What a wicked game to play, To make me feel this way, What a wicked thing to do, To let me dream of you, What a wicked thing to say, You never felt this way, What a wicked thing to do, To make me dream of you

She tried so hard, open her eyes. Reach out, try...try...but she couldn't. That voice, lulling her to obvilion...to security. She wanted it all, the feeling, the sensation.

Nick wrapped his arms around her, to hold her now was all he wanted. Show her what he had inside. The side of himself he showed no one, he wanted to share that with her.

No, I don't wanna fall in love, No, I don't wanna fall in love With you

Warmth surrounded her, engulfed her. Safe, so safe she was. But was it only a dream?

Too late for him, much too late. He had to have her...she had to be his.

World was on fire, No one could save me but you, Strange what desire will make foolish people do, I never dreamed that I'd love somebody like you, I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you

It was gone, the warmth that surrounded her was gone. Her eyes, no longer heavy, she could open them.

Why should he try, hold back. He couldn't show her how he felt. Let go...just let go.

Alecia slowly opened her eyes to find Nick staring down at her. She sat up and looked around. "Wha...what happened?"

"Shh...shh...relax. You fell asleep."

"Asleep? Huh?"

"We were watching movies and you fell asleep honey."

"Oh...oh right...wow I guess I was more tired than I thought. Look Nick thanks for hanging with me, but I'm gonna head over to my room. I'm exhausted. Thanks again."

Alecia got off the bed, collected the movies and headed out the door. Nick sadly watched her leave.

No, I don't wanna fall in love, No, I don't wanna fall in love With you, No, I... Nobody, loves no one.
