Chapter Three

Alecia stepped out of the elevator and headed down to the dinning hall for breakfast. She sat at a table and almost immediately a waiter came over and took her order and shuffled off. He returned with a glass of orange juice and the morning paper which she started reading immediately. She sipped on her juice and continued reading when she heard a crash. She looked up from her paper to see a waiter bending over picking up silverware and plates from off the floor. She rushed over to help and soon another set of hands helped her.

"Here let me help." came the soft voice.

She looked up and found a pair of brown eyes staring back at her. She smiled and handed the waiter the silverware. After a polite thank you to them both, he left.

"Thanks for the help. I'm Alecia, Alecia Hawkins."

"Howie Dorough, nice to meet you, Alecia. I saw the guy drop the tray and was making my way over, but you beat me to him." He smiled.

"Howie Dorough? Why does that name sound familiar to me?"

"Well I'm in this group called the Back. . ."

". . . Street Boys! Yeah I know now. It's nice to meet you Howie." She smiled and they shook hands.

"Would you like to join me for breakfast? I hate to eat alone." He asked.

"Sure sounds good. Let me just get my things and I'll be right over."

Alecia told the waiter and headed over to join Howie. They ate their breakfast and got to know each other before leaving.

"It was nice talking with you Alecia. How long will you be here for?"

"For about three months."

"Well I hope to see you around here again, we'll be here most likely for a couple of weeks at the very least. Maybe we can get together some time."

"Sounds good. Nice talking with you, Howie."

Alecia headed up to her room and called her friend.

"Hey Kris, what's up?"

"Not much, I'm just chilling. Bored to be damned over here. Have you heard anything about the complex?"

"Nope, I can't stand this waiting. I mean there's people who have lives to live you know. It's like they just put us on hold."

"I know, it sucks. They can do it and get away with it." Kris sighed. "Wanna get together and do something? I have to get out of this apartment before I go crazy."

"Yeah me too, plus I wanna tell you what happened yesterday. Hey why don't you call the rest of the group and see if they wanna come with us?"

"Ok cool. I'll call you back and let ya know."

"Alright, bye."

Alecia hung up and changed quickly and headed out the door to go get a drink.

"I thought. . . I mean, I thought that. . ."

"You thought what? Look Joselyn, I'm not ready for a relationship. Last night was fun, but I can't be tied down right now."

Not when he had "her" he had to worry about.

"So it was just some. . . some fling then, right?"

"I'm sorry."

"Bastard!" she yelled and stormed out his room.

Nick sighed, women were too dramatic sometimes. She knew all along what he'd wanted when they'd left the club last night. She couldn't honestly think he was actually interested in her. But enough of her, he had other things he had to take care of. There was a knock at his door and he walked over to open it.

"Hey Rok, what's up man?"

"Nothing, just wanted to know if you got my bag by mistake. . . oh there it is. Thanks man." Brian called and walked back out the door.

"Uhh. . . you're welcome?" Nick called into the air.

Now he had to figure out how to find her, whoever she was. Hell, he didn't even get her name last night so he could mess it up like he did with all the girls he encountered. This really was a bad situation he was in. He grabbed his key card and walked out the room to get a drink.
