Chapter Six
"So you're going to meet me here for dinner at 6:00 right?"
"Yeah, April can't make it but Kris is coming along with me."
"Oh great, so I'll see you here in a little bit then. Bye."
Alecia hung up the phone and pulled her folder from out of her bag. She had a little time left before she had to get ready, so she figured she'd get some work done in the meantime. A few hours later she looked at the clock next to her and closed her folder. She got up and started to get dressed. She was just about finished when there was a knock at the door.
"Michelle, you're early but I guess that's. . ."
"Good evening. You look great, going somewhere?"
"That's none of your business." she replied and started to close the door but he held it open. Alecia sighed and walked back into the bathroom to finish up.
"This is a nice room you've got here."
"It's the same as yours. Wait, why are you still here? Get out!"
"Nope, so where are you going?"
"I already told you it's none of your business, I said get out."
Nick turned to look at her. She really was pretty. Dark brown hair and eyes, a nice figure. She wasn't skinny, but she wasn't heavy either. She had these full lips that just begged to be kissed.
"What are you staring at?"
"Why can't you just talk to me? That's all I want."
"What do you want me to say?"
"You could start with your name. I'm Nick by the way."
She rolled her eyes, "Fine. Alecia, my name's Alecia, okay?"
"Alecia, that's a pretty name."
She cleared her throat, "So anyway, can you please leave so I can finish getting ready."
"Wait wait, let's talk a little more. Sit next to me." Nick patted a spot on the bed next to him.
Alecia sighed and sat down hesitantly next to him. "There's nothing more to be said. You know my name, god help me. And I know yours."
"Well tell me about yourself. . . what do you do? What are your interests?"
"I don't wanna take the time to tell you about me cause I don't plan on talking to you again. So why waste my time and yours? It's been a real slice, but I have to jet."
"You know I won't stop right? I just want to be your friend. I'll make a bet with you that by the time I leave, you'll not only like me, but you'll be my friend too. Hell, I may even get you to care for me."
"You're so sure that you'll achieve this?"
"Definitely."
Alecia shook her head at his over confidence and stood. "Ok sure, whatever you say Nick. Now leave, I'm meeting some friends for dinner."
A slow smile came to his face. "Sure Alecia, I'll leave for now. See you soon." He said over his shoulder and left the room.
Alecia sighed and walked back into the bathroom.
"I can't believe your insurance paid for this, this hotel is sweet!" Kris exclaimed.
"Yeah, it is nice isn't it." Alecia picked up her menu and started looking through it.
"There's so many good things here, I don't know what to pick." Michelle sighed.
"I know what you mean, I'm having a hard time picking myself. . ." Alecia agreed.
"Well, I like to just close my eyes and point to something. . . " A voice whispered in her ear softly.
She jumped and turned. "Nick! What. . . what are you doing here?"
Nick came around the other side of her. "I saw you from outside and thought I'd drop by and say hi."
Alecia noticed that he'd changed, dressed up. His dockers and electric blue dress shirt told her that he'd planned this. Nick turned then and looked at her and her heart skipped a beat. The shirt matched his eyes perfectly.
"Alecia, aren't you going to introduce us to your friend here?" Kris asked.
"We're just acquaintances, but since you insist. Kris Davidson, Michelle Parks, this is Nick. . ."
"Carter. . . it's a pleasure to meet you ladies." Nick murmured as he bent over and kissed their hands, giving them his famous smile.
Alecia rolled her eyes and sighed. Kris and Michelle blushed and all but swooned.
"Nick Carter. . . Nick Carter. I know that name. . . Oh wait! You're a Backstreet Boy, aren't you?" Michelle asked.
"Yes I am."
"Alecia why didn't you tell us you knew Nick! Did you just wanna keep him all to yourself?" Michelle asked.
"Yeah CeCe, didn't your mom teach you to share?" Kris laughed and then her eyes widened and she bit her lip as she bent down to rub her ankle.
"I did mention Mr. Carter here, he's the one I've been telling you about."
Their eyes widened.
"You were right Alecia, he IS hot!" Michelle sighed and then gasped as she also bent over to rub her ankle.
"You think I'm hot?" Nick grinned as he turned to Alecia.
"I never said you were hot, ok. That was April's thing. I never noticed your physical appearance."
"I'm noticing it! How can you not notice it!?" Kris asked stunned and winked at Nick who in turn winked back.
"Please! Can we drop this discussion of Nick's. . . appearance and decide what to order."
"Hmmm, I know what I want. . ." Michelle ginned at Nick and he chuckled.
"PLEASE! Drop it!" Alecia realized she had gotten all worked up and that everyone was staring at her. She cleared her throat and picked up her menu and pretended to look at it.
Nick watched her carefully, he noticed how she kept licking her lips, a nervous habit maybe? He found himself wishing it was him that was licking her lips, he chuckled harshly.
"Nick why don't you join us for dinner? OUCH! Alecia!! That hurt!" Kris whimpered.
"Sorry, my foot slipped." Alecia smirked.
"So what do you say, Nick?" Michelle questioned and moved her legs out from under the table. Alecia glared at her.
"I'd love to, as long as Alecia doesn't mind?"
Everyone turned to look at her and she sighed. "Oh sure, no problem. Please Nick, feel free to join us."
"Great, then I will!"
Aleica moaned and put her head on her hand, this was gonna be a long night.
