STATION BUILDING RULES & DILITHIUM
COLLECTION
Station costs in time and resources have already
been worked out. Stats will be worked out and posted later with ship stats. It is up to
the faction leader to keep track of where their stations are located and what they're
doing. Section 31 and the Tal Shiar will keep track of ALL factions stations.
Starbases: There can be no more then 2 Starbase in a
sector. If a faction manages to build 1 starbase in a sector, that sector is influenced by
that faction. If a faction has 2 Starbases in a sector it has effective control of that
sector (Space wise. There may be hostile planets in a sector). If 2 factions each have one
Starbase in a sector (This achieves the maximum of 2 starbases in a sector) then this
sector is in dispute. Starbases have massive weapons and shields. They can repair vessels
at a medium rate, and can help recrew ships.
Outposts: There can be as many as 4 outposts in a
sector. Outposts do not directly influence a sector, but they can help repair a ship (at a
slow rate) and help partially recrew a ship. Outposts can detect ships passing through a
sector and report that to the faction that controls them. There can be outposts from more
then 1 faction as long as there are no more then four. For every outpost in a section
there is a 15% chance that the faction controlling the outpost will detect a cloaked
vessel (If there are four outposts then there is a 60% chance a cloaked vessel is
detected. It is decided by Section 31 and the Tal Shiar what ships are detected). Outposts
have moderate shields and weapons.
Shipyards: There can be as many as 8 shipyards in a
sector. For every shipyard a faction controls it can build a ship. Shipyards CAN be
destroyed, so their placement should be strategically thought out.
Dilithium Mines: A sector must be scanned and the
scan analyzed before it's known how many mines a sector can maintain (Anywhere from 0 to
10). They might be placed on planets, moons, asteroids and any other form of dilithium
deposits. Mines can be captured and destroyed, so significant protection should be
stationed at them. A dilithium mine produces 2 dilithium for the faction controlling it
per week RT. All mine construction should be run by a moderator.
Orbital Batteries: Orbital batteries are placed into
orbit around planets, stations, moons, deep space, etc. They are constructed and
transported to the desired location and then set up. They can be programmed to only fire
on certain ships (IE: different factions/races/governments). There is no limit to the
number of batteries that can be placed in orbit or space.
Sensor Station: A sensor station scans a sector and
sends a report to the faction owning it of ships entering a sector. These are automated
and cheap. They must be placed in a sector by a ship. There can not be more then 10
stations in a sector. Each station has a 5% chance of detecting a cloaked ship. The
intelligent services or a moderator will decide if a station detects a cloaked ship.
Depot/Storage Stations: These stations are used to store munitions and
equipment. Ships stopping at these stations can be repaired/restocked quickly and easily.
Ships stopping here repair 1.5 times as fast as they do normally
Prison Stations: These stations are built with
massive internal security. Prisoners are transferred and held in these stations. These
stations are capable of holding 100,000 prisoners each.
Manufacturing Stations: These stations are used to
build starship equipment and parts that can't be replicated. For each of these that a
faction dedicates to a construction project, be it starship or station, 10% of the
cost/time is removed. No more then 4 of these stations can be dedicated to a single
project at a time.
Research Stations: These stations are used to
research anything from Starship prototypes to new phaser arrays, stronger torpedoes,
advanced torpedo systems for larger spreads, stronger shields, etc. Send your research
concept to a moderator for approval and, if approved, a time/cost for the project will be
sent back. For each of these stations that a faction dedicates to a research project 10%
of the projects time and cost are deducted. No more then 3 of these stations can be used
on a single project at a time.
Special Stations: Send your station concept to a
moderator and if approved stats and costs (time/dilithium), as well as it's effect/purpose
will be generated. If you do this in secret then the info will be stored, and only given
to the faction who requested the station concept in the first place.
Dilithium Collection: As discussed above, factions will gain dilithium at a
rate of 2 dilithium per week RT per mine. This dilithium can be used to build
ships/stations, speed ship repair, used to do design/research work, and can be used in
trade. It is up to the faction leaders to track their total dilithium bank, their total
mines and stations AND the location of those mines and stations.
