Tufftruck Challenge - 2001
My brother, Stephen, and I took up the challenge of attending the first annual Tufftruck challenge. It was about 2 hrs drive for us up to Milbrodale, which wasn't so bad, except for getting up so early on the Saturday morning to get up there in time for the start of the contest.
They first had a show and shine competition and then followed up with a few nick-picky things like engineering and all that. Then came the travel ramp. By this time (10am), most of the people who had arrived on the friday were already half done (beer), so there was much cheering to be had!! The big white landcruiser FJ45 was most impressive. The photo almost speaks for itself.
I'm looking forward to going again next year, and they already on planning for a much bigger and better event, plus more spectator-friendly stages/tracks. They have a site at http://www.offroadimages.com/tufftruck/ for more info
