November 3rd marks two great events at the Hyde St. Pier Maritim Museum. First, during the day, is the celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Melville's epic "Moby Dick". Co-Sponsored by Stanford University, this event is open to the public and looks to be a great time for all.

That evening is also the celebration of the auspicious 20th Anniversary of the monthly Shanty Sing.

Entertainment for this looks to be incredible. A partial list of the performers include: Louis Killen, Simon Spalding, Mariide Widmann, Bruce Sherman, and local sea bands Dogwatch, Starboard Watch, and Mordecai Ben-Herschel. Plus, for old hands of the Shanty sing, the Park Rangers who have led the Shanty Sing over the years will be having a reunion! Recently, Shay Black was confirmed for this as well.

Note that the Shanty Sing is by reservation only! Reservations for the Shanty Sing can be made by contacting the park at (415) 556-6435, or emailing the Ranger In Charge at peter_kasin@nps.gov.
