Unfortunately, there was at one point a charming story about Blackbeard that was completely false. It'd been sent out over the Seadog mailing list several years ago, and all was happy.
Then one day, yours truly received a threatening letter from Snopes demanding the removal of this letter that predated the Snopes article. However, rather than defend a dead site from the asses at Snopes, I opted just to pull the article. Here's hoping they burn in the same hell other pirates do.
