***GREEK-JEWISH*** I think that Greek-Jewish really laid a groundwork this year that will contribute to the future success of the Greek-Jewish council. I worked
Key Leaders: There are two Greek-Jewish chairs who sit on the AJS board: one representing the sororities and one representing the fraternities. It is important that you work with them to plan programs, however, this year I felt like I could have planned more Greek-Jewish programs or networked more with Greek-Jews myself, in addition to working with the Greek-Jewish chairs.
Strategies for Success: I would strongly recommend starting early to recruit people for a Greek-Jewish council. The sophomores might be a good place to start because many of them have not yet taken on a leadership position within their chapter

a lot with the Greek-Jewish chairs on specific programs, but mostly during the second semester only. We talked a lot this year about establishing an actual Greek-Jewish “council,” where members of different fraternities and sororities would help plan Greek-Jewish programs utilizing their networks. This year, the database was updated so that we knew who was a member of a fraternity and sorority. Most of the Greek-Jewish programs are social in nature, since many Greek-Jews are not active in Hillel, it takes some time to make them feel comfortable first.
so they might be looking to do something Greek-related, but not necessarily chapter-specific. The main purpose of this council should be to promote a common unity among Jewish students who are members of fraternities and sororities by encouraging their brothers and sisters to have an active Jewish life on campus. I think there should be a liaison from as many chapters that have even a small handful of students who are Jewish. These liaisons should advise the Greek-Jewish co-chairs and work on larger scale programming (such as the Greek-Jewish Shabbat) by having specific jobs for that program.
