Q: What is the status of the new wireless library?

Dr. Fredrick: We are hoping it will be completed in Feb/March 2002. Initially, it will not have wireless internet because all our reports indicate that the technology is not yet good enough to provide adequate and reliable coverage over our campus. Therefore, we will have to 'temporarily' rely on regular internet access through the library computers.
We are planning on having a very good computer center along with a learning resource center so students can access nearly anything of a study or research nature on the internet.  We are the only medical school in the Caribbean to already be connected to OVID, which provides over 80 full text journals on line.
Q: How far along is the California licensure process?

Dr. Fredrick: We have been extremely busy preparing our documents for California accreditation. I am pleased to report that all the Calif. documents were submitted to Pat Park in CA, last week.  We now only have to wait for the independent consultant report and board meetings to determine when the state of CA will come to Saba for a site visit.   I am very confident we will pass.

Q: How can I book a flight to Saba at the discounted student  & resident fare?

Windward Air:
You need the resident permit to obtain the student fare. You must be in possession of a permit to be on
the island. You can only obtain this permit thru the government of Saba, once you are there. The last flight leaves at 5:10pm. No landings on Saba after sunset. You would therefore have to overnight on St Maarten and take the flight over the next morning (if you arrive later than this last flight).
