MOVIE PREVIEW
David Dhawan is one
director who for his slapstick sense of humor has been termed as the
comedy king of Bollywood. With a track record of superhit comedies like
Shola Aur Shabnam, Aankhen, Coolie No.1, Saajan Chale Sasural, Hero No.1,
Deewana Mastana, Biwi No 1, Haseena Maan Jayegi to name a few, from
his extensive stock of films, David has established himself as one
successful laugh-inducer. And though his past few boisterous comedies did
lack his trademark touch, expectations are high from his latest film
Mujhse Shaadi Karogi that promises to be a perfect David Dhawan laugh
riot.
Character Sketch
Salman Khan as Samir
A testosterone-laden hunk of a lifeguard in Goa! The beauties on the beach
want to be his eye candy. But their efforts are in vain. Then Samir sees
Rani and falls hook, line and sinker for her.
The path of true love seems to run smooth till the God of bad luck decides
to play mischief. Suddenly Samir's life turns topsy-turvy as everything he
does to woo Rani backfires and goes drastically and spectacularly wrong.
Akshay Kumar as Sunny
The handsome happy-go-lucky man and the God of bad luck in Samir's life!
Sunny's mission in life is to sabotage Samir's love story, because he too
is in love with Rani. Samir can't stand him, but he has to live with him
(literally) because they share an apartment together.
Priyanka Chopra as Rani
An aspiring designer totally dedicated to her career till she meets Samir
and Sunny. As they each try to outdo the other in wooing her, she
discovers the funny and the adventurous side of her she never knew
existed. She loves every moment of their zany antics, but has a tough time
keeping both the Romeos out of her strict father's sight.
Amrish Puri as Colonel Dugraj Singh
Rani's father, he is a man of principles, a retired colonel of Indian
army, who fought the Goan war against the Portuguese. After the war, he
married and settled in Sylvan Goa. He is leading a quite, retired life
till two handsome hunks fall in love with his daughter, shatter his piece
and make life hell for him.
Satish Shah as Surya Prakash
He's a local resident of Goa. He has only one activity, sorry inactivity
in life - sleeping. He just loves to sleep and woe betides anyone who
dares disturb his secret siesta.
Rajpal Yadav is Raj/Paul
He's the surprise packet! In his first dual role on screen he runs riot.
As Raj, he is Samir's best friend as well as a professional astrologer.
Naturally, he keeps predicting things for his friend. Naturally they all
come wrong!
As Paul, he is Raj's twin brother and leader of the rowdy Eagle gang,
notoriously infamous for creating chaos and commotion in Goa.
Storyline
What happens when two handsome hunks fall in love with the same girl? A
love triangle, you would say, right? A zany comedy, says David Dhawan.
When Samir (Salman Khan) falls head over heels in love with lovely Rani (Priyanka
Chopra), little does he know that his happiness is soon going to be
sabotaged.
And the culprit is none other than his newly acquired flat mate Sunny (Akshay
Kumar) who has also fallen for Rani. Now begin the fun and game in
earnest.
Both the Romeos try desperate measures to win their ladylove. As luck
would have it, whatever right Samir does goes spectacularly wrong and
whatever wrong Sunny does comes out absolutely right!
Adding to the mayhem are Rani's strict army-officer father (Amrish Puri),
Samir's best friend and astrologer (Rajpal Yadav) and resident snoozer (Satish
Shah).
