HANI GAMES Pc-engine (Developer FACE)

Hani in the sky and Hani on the road two classic (at least for Bomber and I) over looked Pc-engine games.  Most people are turned away from these games because the main characters appearance.  Hani resembles some what of a phallic symbol not the best choice for a main character. . .

The haniwa is a figure which was used to decorate the tomb of a noble during the Kofun, or Tumulus, era (250–600 a.d.). Originating in the mid-second century as simple cylindrical forms, haniwa evolved into more complex figural representations of houses, weapons, animals, and humans.  The figure represented in both games resembles the human form of the haniwa.

Now that you know a little about the main character.  So how are the games!

HANI  IN THE SKY

Hani in the sky is a vertical shooter.  Hani can shoot in multiply directions, pressing the II button roates hani's gun clock wise around his head.  There is also a shop where Hani can buy items and weapons before each boss battle.  The enemies in this game are just about as strange as the main character.  Some bosses include a large smiling face or a large Hani shaped clay pot.  I absolutely love the music in this game!  If you ever get a chance to check out this wacky shooter and hate the gameplay give the music a chance.

HANI  ON THE ROAD

Hani on the road it the sequel (yes FACE made a sequel) to Hani in the Sky.  Hani on the road plays almost exactly like Capcom's first son-son game.  Hani can hop on 4 paths and must progress forward to the end of each level avoiding enemies in Hani's path.  The enemies in this Hani adventure are more traditionally Japanese creatures giant jumping Darumas and little Kappa's chase after you.  The gameplay is ok nothing special if you did not like the original son-son you are not going to like this.
