Chapter 19-

The man couldn’t ignore the death grip around his neck. He looked fearfully into the amused eyes of what people called Imhotep. But worse of all, he couldn’t ignore the crunching he could hear from the bones in his neck slowly snapping. With a final squeeze, the man let out his final breath of air, and drooped his head. With a sadistic smile, Imhotep flung him across the room. He shifted annoyed. He still wasn’t comfortable in the white man’s clothes. How could people wear such things? (Anyway, back to the point) Imhotep had finally controlled, once again; the minds of every person in Cairo, making them do everything he willed. Suddenly, he turned his head sharply around, looking at one of his slaves.

“Come here!” He barked in ancient Egyptian.

The calloused man trudged his way to where Imhotep sat.

“Yes master?”

Imhotep looked at him for a moment with an amused smile. It was good to be worshipped. Now if only Anaksunamun was here to share his glory.

“Retrieve me the Book of the Dead. Afterwards, fetch those foreigners who woke me up the first time. I want to see them suffer.”

The slave nodded and turned away. Imhotep grimaced when he remembered them, the woman in particular. They called her Evelyn, but she would always remain Nefertiri to him. Her reincarnated figure was still the same stubborn figure from thousands of years before. Imhotep admitted he once loved Nefertiri, but when she turned him down, he turned to Anaksunamun (who had been eyeing him for awhile) to try to make her jealous, but with avail. He wanted to try to make her jealous again, but the green monster had turned against him when he saw how tenderly that man, Rick, had held her. Imhotep was going to kill Rick that was for sure. He would raise Anaksunamun back from the dead, (after all, she was still a beauty) and rule the world. With that Imhotep crossed his legs, and rested lazily against his makeshift throne.

Evelyn closed her eyes with great annoyance.

“Oh Rick, not now.”

Evelyn tried her best to push her husband away, but he was being persistent. She was looking out the window, trying to see any signs of Ravena, Ardeth, or the Medjai. Her awfully annoying husband was currently nuzzling her neck.

“Why not?”

Evelyn pulled away from his grasp, and continued to look worried out the window.

“What if the Nazis discover them? They could die! Not too mention the fact that we will ALL die if Imhotep wins. Oh God Rick, what will we do?”

Rick kissed her neck and chuckled.

“We will win. We did once before, we can do it again. Not to mention what the Medjai had told me. To them Ardeth is the most powerful Medjai leader that has ever graced the lands of Egypt. He will defeat the Nazis.”

Evelyn gave a half-smile, turned around, and wrapped her arms around his strong neck.

“You don’t know that for a fact, Rick.”

She nuzzled her nose against his.

“Well, hope is always a good thing.

Evelyn giggled and reached up to kiss him. Their goal was almost accomplished when suddenly they heard Alex, or Jonathan, let out a terrifying scream. They both turned sharply around, annoyance creasing along their faces. Their son and Jonathan ran into the room, screaming. The married couple were both prepared to yell at them, but paused when they saw what was scaring Alex and Jonathan. There were zombie-like people behind them, and they kept on muttering IM-HO-TEP. They were chasing them into the room, and when the O'Connell's were all finally trapped in one room, the zombies all gave a sadistic smile. Rick growled when he saw this.

“Screw this. Get the hell out of here you @#$ mutants!”

With that Rick grabbed a large piece of wood, and started to swat it at them. The rest of his family huddled behind him. Evelyn tried to scream through the museums door for assistance from the Medjai, but they couldn’t hear her shouts for help. The family was trapped. Rick was doing his best to protect his loved ones, but he couldn’t hold them off any longer. The last thing he could remember was a sharp pain in his head, and the terrified faces of everyone he loved.
