By the way, sorry if these facts are untrue, I’m just caught up in the moment and too busy to really look into the history of such things. Feel free to review, it would definitely make me happy.

Chapter 2-
Ardeth Bey was excruciatingly glad to get away from his uncle. His uncle, Ali Bey, was a distinguished Medjai and known throughout the city for his great deeds. There were a hundred Medjai clans with thousands of Medjai’s in it. Ali used to be the leader of all these tribes, but, due to a fatal wound that nearly killed him, he was forced to retire. Considering he had no heirs, he had to give his title to his bravest nephew, Ardeth. That was five years ago, and still his nephew had not wed and created children of his own. He was the last male member of his family and without a child of his own the Bey line would be destroyed. Ali didn’t even care if he married a foreigner, just as long as he would have a great-nephew. Ardeth chuckled to himself when he remembered how his uncle had thought that bravery was genetic. Ardeth himself stopped visiting the harlots and spent all his time figuring out new defence ideas against the creature.
He sat down on a chair at a nearby restaurant, sighed, took off his turban, ran his fingers through his hair, and thought about the previous events that day. His uncle had informed him about a truce that him and a second-in command for a small Nazi party made. Apparently Hitler was in search of a missing artefact that had seemingly been blessed by the white-mans god. Surprisingly, the leader of this archaeological dig knew about the Medjai and what they were capable of doing if they were caught on their protected “turf”. The leaders name was Rafe Steinburger. Mr. Steinburger asked permission to dig up on that land without disturbing Hamunaptra. Ali, who was impressed when the leader asked before invading, agreed. Of course Mr. Steinburger made it known that he had a woman with him, and would be restrained for her own good. Ardeth wasn’t happy about any of this. All of Egypt hated the Nazis, and every man knows that bringing a woman would be dangerous for her and themselves. His thoughts on that quickly turned to Evelyn when she nearly destroyed the world herself by reading out of the book of the dead.
Ardeth could hear his name being called. He sighed and quickly turned around before one of his admiring fans (obviously single, young woman) could see him and pester him about meeting someplace. He decided to take a walk instead. He hoped that the Nazis would leave soon and on that thought, turned towards the marketplace. After trying to block out the noise in the city, he saw something that disturbed him.
Sitting on a bench, not far away, was a young woman. He couldn’t see her face clearly because she wore a wide brimmed (though stylish, in English terms anyway) hat that was lowered on the side of her head fashionably. It’s shadow silhouetted across her body. She wore a female jacket and a straight, smooth skirt. She sat with her ankles crossed and leaned to the side nonchalantly with her elbow resting on the armrest. He knew she was white because he glimpsed a golden bun peeking out of the hat. Probably another prissy, spoiled brat coming here looking for an imaginary sort of adventure. This angered him deeply. Shouldn’t white, English women at least have the sense to know it was dangerous being out in the marketplace without an escort. Ardeth heatedly pushed through the crowd until he was beside her and rested his hand on her shoulder.
“Excuse me, miss?” .
She jumped, a little startled, and looked up coolly at him. Ardeth wasn’t prepared for her magnificent blue eyes that even made his loins tingle. She was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. She held a haunted, yet noble and aristocratic expression in her face. His eyes ran quickly over her face and out of the corner of his eye, glimpsed her magnificent body. She looked at him for a moment before replying with a simple,
“Yes?”.
Ardeth snapped himself back into reality (after all, she wasn’t even from his culture, although her sexy, yet slightly husky voice was intoxicating ) and instantly remembered why he was there.
“ Miss, you must realize it is dangerous to be here without an escort. I ask you for your own good to leave immediately.”
A small smile tugged on the corner of the woman’s mouth. Her eyes revealed a flash of bitter anger.
“But I am not alone sir, and I have no intention of escaping”.
With that the intriguing woman moved a little to reveal the handcuffs that had captured her remaining freedom. She nodded her head towards an unmistakeable Nazi (who was doing his best to pretend to be a tourist) arguing over some camels. Ardeth realized instantly who it was. The woman who was travelling with Rafe Steinburger. He straightened his back and appeared to be pondering over some thought. He remembered how his uncle mentioned her name was Ravena.
“Well then, Fraulein Ravena, I will leave you in peace.”
The woman’s eyes shot up when she heard her name and was speechless. Ardeth turned around though his heart begged to see her eyes once more. He walked off leaving the woman to ponder on how the hell he could’ve known her name.
When he was far enough Ardeth sat down in a chair where he could still view the woman. He could see her move restlessly with that gorgeous body of hers. He shook that last thought out of his head. He saw the man who was arguing over the camel’s stroll briskly over to her and unchained her. Apparently this woman, Ravena, said some snide remark because he grabbed hold of her wrists and pulled her up violently. He held her arms so angrily Ardeth worried for the woman. With that the man moved away and grabbed onto her elbow and walked vigorously away, dragging her behind him. For some unknown reason, Ardeth felt rage boiling inside of him. When the woman and the man were out of sight, Ardeth quickly contacted his uncle and asked to know everything about Ravena. After his uncle explained her whole life to him (who by the way was thoroughly confused) Ardeth was left with no emotions except for deep respect for this woman.
