1978 Honda Z-50A'78 Mini Trail. 1978 was the last year for the Z-50A before the line became Z-50R and the Mini Trail moniker was dropped. This model is pretty much the same as the 1977 model, but the fenders are painted red. 1978 was the only year for painted fenders on the Z-50A. The red fenders did, however, carry on to the Z-50R line for 1979.
The second picture is also of a 1978 Z-50A but the original red fenders have been replaced with chrome ones. The picture shows the left side of the bike with the red side cover with "MiNi-TRAIL 50" script. 1978 was the only year for this script on the side cover. The 1978 Model is also identifiable by the black rear shock springs that carried on to the Z-50R line through 1983. I downloaded both of these pictures from auctions. The 1978 model came in Tahitian Red only.
