IN
A FOREIGN LAND
(This
does not mean that I do not like New Zealand. I like this country but I love my
home country, Afghanistan, even more.)
I
am a sixteen-year-old teenager
And
I have many dreams to come true
I
have a long life a head of me
But
I still don’t know
What
I am going to do
I
try not to waste my precious time
Because
I know:
“Time
is like a wave-
when
it flows, it never returns.”
I
go to school
And
study hard.
I
call my friends
And
chat a lot.
I
pray, respect and love
I
watch TV, listen to music and laugh
I
do all this here.
Physically
I am always here.
But
in my mind I am somewhere else
Somewhere
I really want to be
And
be doing all that there
Not
here.
