Meet Destroyer
The large crowd marched up the street, passing burning buildings and chanting ‘Kill the mutant’. A distance in front of the crowd ran a small boy, not the cutest looking 8 year old; this boy had green skin, short orange hair and small but sharp canine teeth.
Why was he running, only 30 minutes ago, he had been playing at home supervised by his father. He stopped playing the moment the door broke from its hinges after been forced open by a large crowd, led by his uncle. The boys father escaped through the other door, leaving his son behind, his son was the reason they were here – they found out his son wasn’t ‘normal’. The boy panicked, a hot beam fired out of his eyes, towards the crowd, the boy escaped the same way as his father had.
But now, he had to stop running, he had reached a dead end, trapped between walls and soon he’d be surrounded by the angry crowd of mutant haters. Before he had chance to react, he watched as large pieces of metal began to fly out, towards the crowd. The boy turned around, to see a tall man, floating behind him, the man then picked up the boy, before been flown away, into the air…
10 years later, the small boy had now grown up to be a young man - Destroyer. He had spent the last 10 years of his life been taught by Metalium, the man who gave him his name. He had been taught that the human race is his ultimate enemy, he had learnt about groups of mutants he should avoid, ones who tried protecting the humans.
Destroyer was now running again, not from angry crowds of humans, but from the man who brought him up and taught him everything he knew. Destroyer did not want to be on the bad side, he understood that humans were just afraid of beings like him, which was no reason to punish them. All Destroyer ever wanted was to do good things for the world, help people and more personally, he wanted to be accepted, accepted by everybody, no matter how he looked. He wasn’t going to stop running until he found the group of mutants he had always been warned to stay away from …. The good guys!
